MINI CASE STUDY

Beta test 1 - Niche: Golf - Start date: 25/Nov/08 - Initial mailing list: 0

Our first mini case study begins in the golf niche. This is a niche I have never been in and truly have absolutely no interest in. I generated my initial niche contacts using TwitterGenius.

Offered a mini-series written by a leaders in the golf industry. The mini series is just a series of 25 different pdf files written on various topics about golf.

I searched google for 10-15 minutes to find it - got it free, and it has free give-away rights. The company that wrote the pdf's have it full of their own advertisements.

Test provides the entire mini-series through the custom software interface created using DesktopGenius to both create the primary program as well as deliver the mini-series via desktop delivery.

I am currently doing basic relationship building with the new desktop list by way of using the 25 pdf's as valued content within my custom software program and will begin promoting products in the very near future.

I got a little bit slick with my approach... Within my software, each pdf file is setup to display directly within the software, so there is nothing more for the person to download.

Also, I actually set a password page in front of each pdf, so the person must know the password in order to access the next pdf in the series.

On each password page I provide an email address where they can request the next password at their leisure... Otherwise I have it setup to send out one password per week for the next 25 weeks via desktop delivery.

My tactic on this basically forces the person to keep opening my niche software over and over in order to receive their desired content, plus because I gave it away, and it is set on timed delivery, I am able to use it to build a relationship with the user.

Below are screenshots of the software created, and is delivering the mini-series through, and of the software/desktop admin control panel.

This test ran for roughly 10 days... I was happy with the results considering I entered into a niche I do not like and have no interest in.

This is the software they get

This is how many downloaded/installed so far

So, as you see, I have an ultra targeted list of over 2000 people that I can promote to via the software it's self, as well as through desktop delivery.

A few points to ponder...

I could have added more tabs to my software than the single "Welcome To The Game" tab.

I could add a "Specials" tab and basically put in a feed for golf related products that updates it's self and provides me with commissions.

I could add a "Contact Us" tab and monetize most of the content in that tab... It's really limitless.

Of course the links across the bottom of the software are direct links to sales pages that I get affiliate commissions for.

And without a doubt, I will be using desktop delivery method to promote other golf related products along the way.

Bottom line - So many profit modules built in, and such a targeted list, I am basically forced to make money from this software, and the best part of all is that it is all very submissive marketing.... Everything is very low key and relaxed, so I'll certainly keep my users long term.
